LOS & Radar Interference Analysis
Line of Sight and Radar Signal Interference Analysis
Line-of-sight polygon generation using digital elevation and building data for commercial structure development and radar coverage. Radar signal interference analysis identifying obstruction impacts, coverage gaps, and signal degradation for radar system planning and siting.

A new structure can block a tower's view of a taxiway or put a radar in its shadow. LOS & Radar Interference Analysis quantifies both before anything is built.
Line-of-sight polygons are generated from digital elevation and building data for commercial development and radar coverage. Radar interference analysis identifies obstruction impacts, coverage gaps, and signal degradation to support radar planning and siting.
Capabilities
Visibility and radar coverage, before you build
Line-of-sight polygons
Visible and obstructed areas are computed from any observer point using terrain and building data.
Development screening
Proposed commercial structures are tested for their effect on line-of-sight.
Radar interference analysis
Obstruction impacts on radar signals are modelled, including shadowing and degradation.
Coverage gaps
Coverage gaps are identified and mapped for existing and proposed radar sites.
Siting support
Candidate radar sites are compared for coverage and interference.
Architecture
How it works
1 · Ingest
Digital elevation models, building footprints and heights, and site or radar parameters are loaded into Helios.
2 · Model
Viewsheds and radar propagation are computed against terrain and structures, with and without the proposed development.
3 · Deliver
LOS polygons, coverage and gap maps, and a documented comparison.

FAQ
Common questions
How is access controlled?
By role, at the API layer. Every request to Helios passes through interceptors that check the caller’s role and scope before any data is returned, so the same rules apply whether the request comes from the application, an API client, or an integration. Nothing is governed inside the application itself.
