Sig Joins Every Cignus Platform: Agentic AI With Role-Based Access to APIs, Data, and MCPs
Sig, the Cignus aviation AI, is now built into Cignus tools and platforms — reaching Helios API services, data sources, and MCP servers through the same role-based access control as every Cignus application.

Cignus has released Sig, its aviation AI, as an integrated part of Cignus tools and platforms — from cignus.ai to applications such as Obstruction Watch — rather than as a separate chatbot.
Sig reaches Helios API services, data sources, and MCP servers through the same role-based access control as every Cignus application. What Sig can read or do follows the user's role, enforced at the Helios API layer rather than in the prompt, so the same assistant can serve a public visitor, an airport operator, and an analyst — each within their own access.
Live NOTAMs are available today, and each new Helios data service becomes something Sig can work with as it comes online.
"We didn't want an AI that sits next to our tools — we wanted one that works inside them. Sig goes through the same role-based access as every Cignus application, so it can reach real API services, data sources, and MCP servers, and only the ones each user is cleared for. That is what makes AI usable in an operational aviation environment." — Florian Hafner, PhD, Chief Technology Officer, Cignus
